my processor Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 with vID 1.25v which is shown in the box.I've seen some boxes with 1.225v.Is higher.. worse?I wonder, could I safely go higher, and if so what Core Voltage etc should I use?

when overclocking its best you have all the auto settings locked to a known and safe setting.It's too bad some board manufacturers think they can do better by setting voltages for you.
On my Gigabyte board I get a RAM voltage of 2.2V when I overclock the fsb and the setting is at auto.The BIOS doesn't even mention its going to fry my RAMs

What's printed on the box is not the CPU's VID. You can find out by running CoreTemp, it will tell you the actual VID.
Those voltages are normal operating specs. You have no need to worry. More voltage at the same clock speed will only raise temps Very slightly if at all.
