    60mm to 80mm Fan Adapter

    Hi,

The (original) fan of my CPU (AMD Athlon XP 2000 +) does a lot of noise. I plan to change it but it is a 60mm and difficult to find. I am thinking of using a 60 to 80 Fan Adapter. But i Had Some Queries Like The location of the screws will they correspond with the radiator or will I be surprised given that AMD is original? Is the cooling will always be as effective with the use of an adapter? Please Help me Thanks in Advance

Re: 60mm to 80mm Fan Adapter

Hello , Using an 80mm fan which can push as much air as a 60mm fan, we can cut down on noise produced by heatsinks such as the delta screamers, since the 80mm fans don't need to spin as quickly to push the same amount of air, thus cutting down on decibals. Or, if noise is not an issue, you might want to use a really powerful 80mm fan to push even more air, and possibly increasing the effectiveness of the heatsink.

One way to reduce the noise level of a fan is to replace a small fan with a larger fan, which often runs quieter at the same or even higher airflow. You'll often need a fan adapter for it to work.

Re: 60mm to 80mm Fan Adapter

Sometimes a 60mm fan isn't enough for your chip. Or, maybe you want to take advantage of the wider available selection of 80mm fans on the market. If either of these two things are true, then this is the product you need. It sits on your heatsink and allows the mounting of an 80mm fan. The replacement fan 63m by 8mm increases cooling performance and often improves the sound level of your computer.
