Overclock E8400 to 3.4 Ghz

Hi,
Is it possible for my E8400 to overclock at 3.4 Ghz with standard cooler? I am new in this area.

My configuration is as follows;
Asus P5Q-Pro
Cooler master Centurion 5 case.
Sapphire ati radeon HD 4850
Intel E8400
2gb ram
Windows xp

In practical you can achieve 3.4 ghz, if people can overclock a processor of 3 Ghz in to 4 - 4.5 Ghz that 3.3 - 3.4 Ghz must do be well without problem. Why don't try out. For 3.1 you dont need more vcore, and the ram needs to go to 1:1.

Download coretemp. That will show you the temps of your CPU so you know how far you can go without any overheating. Some people go higher but my personal preference is keeping the CPU below 70C when at full load.

Still a last question, I the following from to sit has counted;
I want E8400 Overclock to 3.4 Gig, here I end up on;

378 FSB x 4 = 1512 Mhz Frontside bus
378 FSB x 9 = 3402 Mhz CPU-clock frequency (3.4 Gig)
378 FSB x 2 = 756 Mhz ram-clock frequency

Can I leave this whole simply standard ? or should i modify.

if I was you I would go rather for 8x, 400 FSB. Neat 3,2Ghz and 1:1 with your RAM. you can always try 8.5 x 400.I also started my Overclock with a standard cooler, no dangerous temperatures experienced on 3,6Ghz, standard Vcore.
