hi,
Does someone know the running/idle temperature for an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 6000+ 3.0 GHz Processor. Is it a good choice for a fast and efficient computer. would be the average sort of temperature?Any help will be extremely appreciated.

hi,
Depends on the actual processor and the heatsink/fan you are using.I have a 5200+ overclockd to 2.835 w/ stock heatsink/fan.My idles are about 30c max 48c.
The stock cooler with my S939 X2 4400 is great, the AM2 versions are pretty poor though, less heat pipes and a smaller fan.
My X2 is stock cooling at 2.7Ghz 1.425v and 45C on load.
This is only due to good case airflow, efficiant PSU, motherboard chipset cooling voltage regulator cooling and the CPU HSF being large, with 6 copper heat pipes.
Unless you have a similar setup, you might get as high as 55C in a poor case with no overclocking.
Adapter: PCI adapter
Core0 Temp: +62.0°C
Core0 Temp: +57.0°C
Core1 Temp: +60.0°C
Core1 Temp: +54.0°C
I hope it's not too bad.. is it?
