    Q9550 core very high temperature?

    hi,
These temperatures are similar in all programs as well as in the BIOS.
So as idle temperatures can not be right or?

I tested the included fan and my previous E6750 CPUs.The only difference is the lower run of the fan.

    System:
    Q9550 @ 3,2 GHz
    Gigabyte P35-DS3R latest bios
    Radeon HD4870
    6GB RAM

Normal values for ~ 1.3 volts with boxed cooler. If you have a boxed cooler use, why the speed so low?

Check to see if your heatsink is flat and your cpu is also flat. I use the straight edge of a metal ruler. Sometimes heatsinks or cpu's can be concave which throws up all sorts of problems and ruins the efficiency of the cooling. If either products arent flat then send them back.

    hi,
for stock speeds those temps seem high, especially for your cooler. the difference between the core temps is borderline as well. i would try to re-seat the heatsink and re-apply thermal paste (use arctic silver 5 or arctic cooling mx2) and make sure that it is making good contact all the way around.

when i first installed my quad the 1 core was ~10c hotter. i reapplied paste and re-seated and all was well afterwords.
