    Overclocking AMD X2 3800+

Hello, I have a AMD X2 3800+ has 2Ghz origin which I made a success of has to make go up has 2.2 by putting fsb has 220 instead of 200 the problem it is that fsb can be with the max has 232 and the multiplying coefficient is blocked.
My Bios is a Phoenix last Maj v1.8.
I have a motherboard chart MSI K9VGM-V and the RAM it is of G-Skill PC 6400.
I would like to arrive has to make assemble my CPU towards the 2.6/2.7 Ghz if that is possible, but I cannot what make?
    Thank you for your assistance

Also, you can get in the bios, and lower the HT link from Auto, or 5x, which for the Athlon 64's is the default I believe, lower it to 4x, then up your FSB speed. That should give you some more room. HT works like this, say you have 200 mhz fsb. 5x200=1000 HT, which is default. Once you hit a certain level, the PC does not like that too much, but if for example you lower HT to 4x. 4x250 for example=1000 HT, but you would get higher clock speed. So lower the HT speed to 4x, and up your fsb and see if that doesn't help some.

    Re: Overclocking AMD X2 3800+

I ran the processor at 1.5V, the memory at 2.7V with 2.5-4-4-8-2T timings. I reduced the HT multiplier to 3x, and increased the FSB clock to 310MHz with a multiplier of 8. This resulted in a 2480MHz core clock speed, 930MHz HT speed, and 310MHz (DDR620) memory speed.

If you wanted to overclock your system, here are some hints so you can do so as safely as possible:
    • You should reduce the Hypertransport multiplier to 3x or 4x from the default 5x, as you should keep the Hypertransport frequency to 1.1GHz or less
    • You will probably have to raise the CPU core voltage to 1.5V or even 1.55V
    • You better have excellent cooling too; we had some temperature induced crashes at 2.48GHz with the standard cooler until we added extra cooling.
    • Make sure you have good thermal compound applied in a thin even layer, and that the heatsink is making good contact with the processor
