Unable to update BIOS for Intel Motherboard

    Hello Friends,

I am having problem with my Windows XP OS. The system keeps restarting automatically. I am getting this error report:

I have Old Intel Motherboard, MS6163 PRO BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0x71), which lies in the 0x70 - 0x71 protected address range. This could lead to system instability, and suggesting me to contact system vendor for technical assistance.

I guess this is because I don't have a XP-compatible BIOS? If yes, where can BIOS update for this motherboard.

Please help me. Appreciate very much!

    Thanks.

Download the bios file of the 6163 Pro, and look at what the Txt-file says: MS-6163 Pro W6163IMJ3A0 BIOS Release this will upgrade supported hard disk to 65Gb (all update for all revisions will do this..). Just make sure you match the Mobo revision (as there are 3). Just open the case and look on the mobo, it should be printed on it...(mobo model+rev.). Btw, awardflash will warn you if you select a bios mismatch for updating...

look here for the biose :http://www.hardwarezone.com/reviews/...msi6163pro.htm

Also check here for full information about your 6163 Pro.

Please post the full Bios ID, that includes the Bios OEM message shown just below the Award Logo in the upper left corner (when you see the Bios-ID you posted on the bottom line).

    It may look like this:
    W6163MJ V2.5 111199
    or this:
    W6163IMJ V5.0 121399

And have a look at your board, the MS-6163 came in several revisions.
