CPU 0%, Though there is something to do
Hey I have a problem with my computer and I simply can not find a solution.
Each 5 minute (approximately), my cpu goes down to 0% and then going all in is on my computer. If I run the game then play to a halt, so I pressed on the screen, the program goes in "The program is not responding." The same applies to all other programs.
After about. 30sec to 1min stationary, you can hear the HDD start working again when the CPU meter again moving on it. Then run all the programs again, from where it stopped. Then it will run until the same problem occurs again.
I have the following hardware:
Intel Core 2 Quadro Q6600
Asus Striker Extreme
BFG GeForce 8800GT OC2 512GDDR3
Corsair QUAD2X4096 - 6400C5DHX (4x1024MB)
WD RaptorX 150GB, 10K
WD Caviar RE2 500GB
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Pro.
be quiet! Straight Power 700 Watt
I have the latest BIOS on my motherboard, I have the latest chipset driver, and the latest graphics driver, I have also tested an earlier version of the chipset driver, but without result.
Can someone help?
PS. I am running Windows Vista 64bit

Re: CPU 0%, Though there is something to do
I would guess fault on the hard disk, but it is only a guess.

Sounds like something I/O locking
I would probably download Western Digital Data life guard and run a test on the HDD.

Quick scan found no errors. Has started with the other scan options, and write just what it appears to.
It can not be a BIOS thing?

Check logbook to see what happens? You can open it by typing "log" in the Start Search box.

Hmm forms appear in the text:
"Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0 were issued."
Somewhat frequently, and timing, I think that fit very well with the times it gets stuck on. It wont just say that every 5min, sometimes it can drive an hour.
