Hello,
have the following question:
I have my E8400 overclocked to 4 GHz by raising the FSB to 445 MHz. The processor ran before 3 months with no problems to 3.6 GHz. The new 4 GHz PC also runs the Prime stable. The LED lit up my hard drive permanently, and after a short time, my Windows stop responding. After a reboot my POST screen i reported that both hard drives (connected via SATA2) are BAD status.I then followed by the clock back to 3.6 GHz reset and restart.Windows unable not boot. Then I removed the second disk, and Windows started normal (at 3.6 GHz).
Now I do not know if this little problem with the overclocking has to do. The FSB is on 445 MHz, the PCI-E clock, I fixated on 100 MHZ. the normal PCI clock, I can not fix at 33 MHz, because my board does not have the appropriate setting. I once read that in this case, the PCI to PCI-E clock is coupled, then should not be overclocked.
Can someone help me or knows this problem?
Or is there no connection with the bars on my plate and a smart error was reported to have just a coincidence?
