Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 overclock

Hi im new to this site i have a noob question. i m using CPU-Z and found that my idle core speed is 2000.5 GHz and load is the normal 2833.7 Ghz, why does it do this and how can i make it stop???? the multiplyer automaticly goes from 6.0x to 8.5x. i know there is something i can change just dont know where to look thank you guys for the help.

i'm not familiar with your mobo but just want to make sure your bios is seein' the newer proc correctly...all 4 cores?? if not then i'd say look into a more recent bios for the mobo. also did any settings in the bios get changed when you popped in the new cpu?? somethin' maybe reset to a default setting???
