    Memory timings and frequency

I noticed that my DDR3 memory is running @1066 MHz with 333MHz reference @1.54 Volts with 7-7-7-20 timings. But it was advice by the manufacturer to run at

1600 MHz @ 1.8 Volts with 9-9-9-24 timings. But if i raise it my computer will not boot up at all and I have to reset the CMOS.Can anyone help me out with this issue.

My ram is rated at 1333mhz but it can go to 1600mhz easily with 7-7-7-18 timings. What is your FSB:Ram ratio.

It may be due to your DDR3, but my DDR2 is at 5-5-5-18 @ 1.96.
It would be that the DDR3 improvement? RAM is Dominator 2 at 2g 1066.

So I have never overclocked before but I get the idea on how to do it. So I can play it safe and use default settings?

1066MHz, 1.54v with 7-7-7-20 timings or modify it to match the manufcturer specification
