Motherboard restriction with overclocking

Ok, I got a little deeper in the overclocking (theoretically), and I have a question. I have the asus P5N-D motherboard, which may take up to 1333MHz.

Also, I have the Q6600 with a maximum multiplier of 9. This way I can get at 3.0 GHz overclocking since 1333 divided by 4 is 333MHz times 9 is 3ghz. Right?

Not quite, with overclocking you go (you can) in 1333. My motherboard is also officially 1333, but I set on when it should be 1800. And my memory than 1800:2 = 900 (I do not do this 24/7).

Often look first if the motherboard can get cherry with the overclock.

OK, thanx, so theoretically I would if I let my memory 1:1 as 3.6ghz is 1600mhz FSB. I can leave without memory overclocking. Did 4gig OCZ DDR2-800 mhz.
Hmm. Soon will see what it can.
