Motherboard 4CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0 bios question

hi all
my Motherboard is 4CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0 ive updated the bios to 2.10{latest
version} ive just bought a sapphire x1950 pci x but had an old agp gs7800gs that blew up,while i was trying the agp slot on the asrock i noticed the agp was only x4 but on the site and manual it says 8x speed, even with the latest bios its still only 4x. anyone know why this is?

your motherboard Has these Features

- 1 x PCI Express Graphics slot (@ x4 mode)
- 1 x AGP 8X slot

The 8x speed is for Agp slot . PCi slot has 4x speed
