overclock Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

Hi friends i want to overclock my Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

My pc configuration is as follows

• Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 @ 3.4ghz
• Asus P5k Premium WiFi, Arctic Cool. Freezer7 Pro
• 2gb Corsair XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500
• Geforce 9600GT
• LG GGC-H20L BD\HD DVD
• Maxtor 160gb, Samsung Spinpoint 320gb

Hi hatred, Heres a guide for what you need to change to get a Q6600 to 3.4 ghz on a Asus P5k Premium WiFi mohterboard with the bios update.

Make sure you have a decent cooler, just to be safe. I ain't getting blamed if it blows up.

• Get into bios (and it all set to default)
• Advaced tab
• Jumperfree Configuration
• overclock tuner - change to Manual
• CPU Ratio Setting - change to 9
• FSB Frequency - change to 380
• CPU Voltage - change to 1.3875v
• Load-Line Calibration - change to Enable
• Press esc key
• CPU Configuration
• C1E Support - change to Disable

That will get you to 3.4ghz, I also went into Power, Hardware monitor and enabled CPU Qfan and Chassis Qfan to help.

I tried for 3.4hgz , and it seemed stable, but then certain things wouldn't install due to the OC. I need to try again some time.

This guide may not work well for everyone. because every chip is different and so will require different settings.
