Overclock a P4 2.6GHz!

Good evening,

I'd like to know that frequency, a P4 2.6GHz Northwood 533Mhz (socket 478) can be increased?

Knowing that it could be mounted for instance on an ASRock P4VM900 or other .

Should we change the heatpipe of origin, if overclock should be done? If yes, what type?

Hi,

The O / C is not an exact science, so we can not tell you how often you can mount your processor because of a motherboard has another and a processor to another, performance are not the same. After all depends on the material that you have around, if they are in limited O / C or not. For example, I have a P4 2.4Ghz rising to 3.2 Ghz, but it is mounted on an bit is made for O / C.

For the heatpipe, it is better to change, because the P4 heater anyway, especially O / C

I was fitted with a 3.2GHz ASRock or otherwise, but if it is not possible, I hope at least up to 3.0Ghz.
