E6300 overclocking

I have an Gigabyte board with Intel E6300 processor & 2 gb Corsair DDr ram. By now, my processor seems to not giving any real performance so i am thinking to overclock it and i dont want to buy any other processor & for it i bought a arctic freezer. I am getting a temperature of 45c idle & 58c when it loads at normal clocks of 2ghz. Now i want to get over it so what do i do & how far can i go? At what temperatue should i have to worry? Is my cooler alright or should i go for another one?I have also updated the bios. I am new to it so i am in need of any help that i can get in details. Thanks

The temperature seems far to high while considering overclocking just yet. I think you need something big for instant like the noctua range or the thermaltake volcano. Also, you need to have a good amount of ventilation inside the computer case & few case fans also with some arctic silver thermal paste. The cpu might switch off if the thermal paste is used too much so make sure to follow the instructions before applying it.
