BIOS Overclocking

\I am not been able to overclock my PC. I just tried few things but they are not working. All I can do is only underclocking it. From 2.4 ghz, I brought it down to about 1Ghz.

How about changing the Hyper Transport clock? I am asking this as I was able to change the HT clock from 750 Mhz to 990 Mhz. How does the Bios can save my machine if the overclocking doesn't succeed?

What board are you trying to overclock. Please mention your specs.

Asus M2V-MX SE Motherboard with AMD Athlon 64 4200 X2 Dual Core CPU, 2.2GHz with 1 GB RAM.

Oh, the board that you mentioned is not overclockable. Thats why its not accepting the levels whatever you are overclocking and taking you back to the original limits.

Oh no. So that is the reason. Ok, so dont need to waste my time trying to overclock that PC
