    Temperature of E7200 processor

Yesterday i bought myself a new cpu Intel E7200 with a Gigabyte board GA-P35-S3G. It runs very smoothly which is good. But it keeps to turn itself off all time which is bad. Whenever i play any games, couple of time it turns itself off. So i thought that the heatsink wont be mounted properly so i downloaded Core Temp but is showed normal temperature of 40-42 when idle & 45-52 on loading anything. It is using the stock cooler that came with the cpu which looks a little slim as compared to my previous AMD. So i am stuck why is it turning itself off. Any help would be great.

    Specs
    Intel E7200 2.53 Ghz
    Gigabyte Mobo GA-P35-S3G
    2x Kingston HyperX Ram
512Mb PCIe ATi HD 2600 XT graphic card
    350 Watts Power supply
    Western Digital 160Gb Hard drive

I bet that it is your low watt power supply that is giving trouble. It is very low profiled with the specs you have there. Also check that the graphics card is not overheating. But i think that you should consider buying a new psu for your specs.

Did you make sure that the mobo has the latest Bios.

According to Gigabyte the recommended version is F4b for that CPU E7200

+1 for PSU problem, get a quality psu to meet all the requirements of today's hardware.

I think that the heatsink is just not right cause i tested by taking out the heatsink & refitting it again & it has not turned itself off again so far. Also i think that i need to change my psu as well, though, it came preinstalled but in future will need a new one if i want to change the video card
