how to clear search index or data?

Is there an easy way to clear data that is indexed in the Vista serarch option?
I would like to remove personal info that is taged (Email Strings, Media Files, Web Sites....etc).

Currently i have the search service stoped, and that pretty much kills all of the info above, but i was curious if you could clear the info from time to time.

1. Open Indexing and Search Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Indexing Options.

2. Click Modify.

3. To remove a location, clear its check box in the Change selected locations list, and then click OK.

I attempted to do just that, but all i see are the file extensions to modify or check off.
I am more concerned about the data its picking up... Email Strings, files, etc
