unable to choose single click option

When I go into folder options I do not have the choice to use single clicks to open folders. The option is in there, just greyed out. I am admin.

Mouse is logitech wireless with a usb adaptor as receiver for mouse.

Vista is the OS.

logitech says my puter is the problem, my puter manufacturer says windoze is the problem. Windoze says huh?

Are you doing it properly?

Just follow the simple steps, double-click the associated icon. Normally, one click will highlight the icon while two will open it. However, if you would prefer to open programs and folders with just one mouse click, you can easily configure your Windows XP system to allow this:

  • Press Windows Key + E to open Windows Explorer.
  • Click on "Tools" then on "Folder Options".
  • With the "General" tab selected, choose the item labelled "Single click to open an item (point to select)".
  • Click "OK" Exit out of the Folder Options dialog and out of Windows Explorer.

Go to your mouse settings and set your single/double click options... This can be found in the Control Panel... or get a new mouse... sounds like a faulty mouse!
