File association

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could shed a little light on the
problem I'm having with file association. The check box for
" Always use this program to open these files " is grayed out and
checked. I used to at one time or another, have the option to
uncheck the box at will. Sometimes I want to temporarally open a
file with a different program instead of the one that it's associated
with.

So my question is......how and if I can make the check box an
option again? Below you can see the image show's the check
box available to check or uncheck. Mine's checked and grayed out.

XP Home SP2
Office 2003

Thank you

To fix the association for a particular file type, download the corresponding fix from the attached files (Use Right-click - Save as option in your browser to download the fixes). Unzip the fix and extract the .REG file to the Desktop. Right-click the REG file and choose Merge. Note that you need to be an administrator to apply these fixes.
