| File association
Hello, I was wondering if someone could shed a little light on the problem I'm having with file association. The check box for " Always use this program to open these files " is grayed out and checked. I used to at one time or another, have the option to uncheck the box at will. Sometimes I want to temporarally open a file with a different program instead of the one that it's associated with. So my question is......how and if I can make the check box an option again? Below you can see the image show's the check box available to check or uncheck. Mine's checked and grayed out. ![]() XP Home SP2 Office 2003 Thank you |

To fix the association for a particular file type, download the corresponding fix from the attached files (Use Right-click - Save as option in your browser to download the fixes). Unzip the fix and extract the .REG file to the Desktop. Right-click the REG file and choose Merge. Note that you need to be an administrator to apply these fixes.
