Pentium 4 3 Ghz & Windows Vista?

i want to run Vista on my computer i have P4 3.0ghz rig with 256mb RAM.
my friend tell me to upgrade my RAM to 1GB and other friend told me that it cant run in single core smoothly .
any suggestions !

1GB an handle P4 3.0ghz , you dont want to get to hyper in taking this option my friend,
I think you should get with Pentium Core Duo and Core 2 Duo is a good option or anything you like in core.

i once tried vista on my hp but that didn't work out too well

i think vista runs quit well in overclocked P4 2.7 in your system or
it will lag a lot when the application work in your pc ?

single core can run Vista..
and the min. RAM reqd. is 512MB..
1GB is recommended....

my htpc is a p4 3.0 on 1.256 ram, with a radeo x1650.. gives overal vista rating of 4.1 and thats because of the memory.. it runs good, not wicked, but its runs good.

i have vista ultimate on it
