Vista Ultimate boot failure, no recovery?

    Status:0xc0000359
Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt.

Cannot find this error message listed anywhere - for help

Already used the OS disk to "repair", but did not fix the boot failure. Changed the bios is set to boot from cd first, no help. Also cannot boot from any of the "other" options on the black screen, such as; last known good config, safe mode, etc.

My mainboard is a MSI K9N Neo. Last action by me was to load Sony's Handycam Application Software, which loaded Directx9.? That might have been what hosed me.

I have a dual boot system, 2 HD, one winxp, one Vista Ultimate. I choose which OS on the bios prompt. XP is still good, ruling out hardware as problem.

0xc0000359, with this error, it sounds like you may have Nero ImageDrive installed on your machine. This version may not be compatible with Vista or at least during setup. If you can boot back into XP I would suggest uninstalling All Nero Products then try the upgrade. In the $windows.~BT\Sources\Panther directory there should be a file called setupact.log which may have more info on the problem but it sounds like Nero is your culprit.

Try going into system bios and selecting your
DVD drive as the boot drive. Then put the Vista DVD in and boot from that.
You should then be able to load the drivers again.

If the problem doesn't fix, keep repeating....
