was having a lot of problems with my desktop xp ...this is just a hobby of mine ...have formatted my hard drive...want to reload xp into it...can't get into the bios...keep getting message "bootmgr missing "...any suggestions ?

I think that Windows XP will not utilize BOOTMGR error. The equivalent function in Windows XP is NTLDR. Have you by any chance installed a Windows 7 or Windows Vista on your system and uninstalled the same?
