I was installing window 7 ultimate after formatting the drive but
when it comes to last step of installation process it's giving error "Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration. Installation cannot proceed"

The error that you are getting is caused due to using an Intel 82801ER SATA RAID Chipset (ICH5R). Actually, the driver on the Windows 7 install media does not support this controller. So, a driver update should result in resolution; but the latest version of the Intel driver which supports this chipset (version 5.5) is only supported on earlier version of Windows.

kinda sucks maybe a system upgrade is what should have been done

just sayin' shoulda tried the os upgrade instead of the hd format


had u tried the upgrade assistant it should have mentioned something i would get the updated driver then try to streamline the updated driver into the dvd/cd then try to install the os
