How do I enable RAID/AHCI on Win XP x64 OS?
Good day all.
I just purchased a MSI 970A-G46 motherboard with a AMD FX-6200 CPU. I'm unable to install Windows XP 64-bit OS on this system with either RAID or AHCI enabled. Windows setup crashes with BSOD error 7B. I have tried the following:
1. Slipstreamed SP2 and the AHCI drivers obtained from the MSI website.
2. Loaded the drivers onto a USB drive and hit F6 to load additional drivers.
Has anyone been able to successfully enable hardware raid using XP x64?

If you want to setup a Raid array then you should have 2 or more identical drives in the system. At the BIOS levels, these multiple drives are meant to be joined in different ways into a single drive that is what the operating system will see. You wont be able to convert an existing disk to a member of a RAid array without losing all data on the disk.
