    ohmy specified service does not exist as an installed service : error Ox6D9

    wife hooked up new hp laptop. not sure if it caused this. main computer is windows vista. anyway now unable to turn on network discovery and printer sharing or any of that. error service does not exist as an installed service.

    i read it may be firewall when i try to go to windows firewall it will not allow me in error Ox6D9.

    any help? thanks

    Are you saying that your wife hooked up the laptop to the new computer? If so then how did you connect both the systems?     no she logged on to the home network and after that, the network sharing is no longer available, the printers dont work. and i cannot get into windows firewall at all.

    we had four computers on thenetwork. now only two work, and sharing and discovery cannot be turned on.

    Have you gone through event viewer?? Just go through it and check out if there is any error. If you find any, than add it in your next post for further help.
