Re: Did anyone downloaded Windows 8 Consumer Preview

For those who want to try Windows 8 Consumer Preview, we remind you that the system can be downloaded for free from the Microsoft website in two variants: the standard ISO image and a new installation package that automatically checks the requirements of the PC, download the ISO image Windows Version 8 is suitable for your computer and provides the serial prompted by the OS during installation. The image obtained ISO can be burned on any DVD or copied to a USB drive.

In addition to replacing the Start button with the Start Screen, one of the main new features of Windows 8 Consumer Preview there are the hot corner that provide quick access to applications and open to the charms bars positioning the mouse pointer at the corners of the screen, the Windows Store which was opened to the public, the Internet Explorer Platform Preview 5 and 10 a number of applications and games including Metro Style to be discovered.

You can upgrade previous versions of Windows to Windows 8 Consumer Preview having different upgrade options available depending on the source system, or installing Windows 8 in dual-boot and create another partition at least 20GB.

Re: Did anyone downloaded Windows 8 Consumer Preview

The Windows 8 Consumer Preview is available in various editions, including different language versions and 32 or 64 bit versions. Before downloading, it must be established, which wants to install pre-release edition of one. Also, to decide whether the 32 Bit or you want to install 64 bit version. The 32-bit edition is especially well suited for older PCs, as they like in the case of netbooks with Intel Atom CPUS sometimes offer no 64-bit support. In addition, the download of the 64-bit version is of course somewhat more extensive because compatibility components are included to ensure proper operation of 32-bit applications. The 64-bit version should be able to be easily used on all current PC systems. Would like to give some answer which a user can ask.

    How big are the downloads?
The Consumer Preview Windows 8 will be offered in the form of ISO images of installation DVDs for download, the data volume is relatively large. The 32-bit version fails with 2.5 gigabytes, while the 64-bit output all 3.3 gigabytes in size. The download may therefore take some time. So for the download of the 32-bit version will require a connection DSL6000 less than an hour. The 64-bit version, there are provided about 20 minutes more, the download can be at maximum speed.

What after the download I s complete?
The finished downloaded ISO image of Windows 8 Consumer Preview, of course, must be burned to a DVD. This is a normal blank DVD is required with a capacity of 4.7 gigabytes. Burning can be done with all popular DVD burning programs can write files in the ISO bootable form. In Windows 7 can be used from the factory contained function for burning ISO images. In Windows XP you can, for example, the well-known burning software Nero used. There are also free alternatives such as CDBurnerXP! If you have completed the DVD, the installation of Windows 8 consumer Preview to be addressed. Since this is a preliminary version, using a separate test system is recommended.

From where to get drivers for Windows 8 Consumer Preview?
Microsoft is also in the case of pre-release Windows 8 back in drivers for most hardware devices and peripherals from different manufacturers at the factory. These are installed automatically when you install the most part. If this is not the case for certain components, can create a search using Windows Update problem. Especially the graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia offer separate downloads of drivers for Windows 8, each to find the homepage of both companies.

Just hope I have solved some of you questions and about the download I have download it the first date it was released.

Re: Did anyone downloaded Windows 8 Consumer Preview

An important aspect of the evolution of Windows 8 is to improve the implementation process. In addition to technologies like solid state drive (SSD) and Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), the next iteration of Windows includes optimizations that Windows 7 will leave much behind in terms of starting. With a new starting mechanism that combines a cold start to resume from hibernation, Windows 8 offers unmatched speed, dramatically reducing the time it takes to start. The next version of Windows closes off user sessions, but places the hibernating kernel session. It is quite clear that regardless of the device that clients use, performance boot will be higher if run Windows 8, compared with Windows 7. "It's faster because the session resume hibernated system is comparatively less work to do a full initialization of the system, but it is also faster because we have added a new ability to resume several phases, which is able to use all the cores in a system multicore parallel to divide the work to read from the hiberfile and unzip the contents.

Re: Did anyone downloaded Windows 8 Consumer Preview

I have also downloaded Windows 8 Consumer Preview when it was released and i found it very good. I would like to give you some features which i felt really great.

    Lock screen and welcome screen
Before contact with the operation of the interface and touch screen, the first thing you see is the welcome screen of Windows 8 and immediately notice that both the Welcome screen, as the lock screen has been improved, re-mastered and subjected to a re-engineering. You can choose to gain access with a username and password or setting a PIN standard, or even more interesting with a lock image. A frame lock is to upload a picture of your choice and then make three gestures on it when prompted. For example, you could upload a photo of your mother and then draw two devil horns and a tail on it and these three movements will open up access to the operating system. Once passed the safety, the welcome page is the next thing you see and here, too, Microsoft has made a big change. Now, not only can your avatar, but you can choose your own custom background, add the time and date and some quick links to applications such as electronic mail or any application that you wish to appear on the welcome screen.

    Metro UI

Sure you've heard of Metro. Metro is the new user interface Windows 8, but to be honest, this style has been in Windows since the beginning, Microsoft designed specifically from Microsoft Encarta 95. Metro began to develop in other products such as Windows Media Center and Zune software, but most relate it to Windows 7. Now before you go crazy and decide not to upgrade, you should know that the Metro user interface is the top and you can choose to ignore it and keep the traditional Windows desktop as you have in the current version. For those who are happy to make a change, bringing Metro is a UI home screen panels populated with square and rectangular tiles. Some of them "live" and animations related to the content found within them or just still pictures. As with Windows Phone 7, you can create any time you want, add them to your home screen and even group them and name them such groups as you like. It's actually a combination of the old Start Menu, taskbar and the desktop in a single strip of interactive graphics that really looks very nice. The developers and manufacturers of computer applications designed Metro style, to fit and run on this framework and, of course, there will be a Windows shop where you can find and buy more of them - like the Windows Marketplace Windows Phone 7 you can even shop from the applications themselves.

    Touchscreen or mouse and keyboard

It should not surprise you that Windows 8 is designed for touch screens. Microsoft promoted the idea with the launch of Windows 7 and, although perhaps the hardware market was not ready at that time, now it is, as this latest operating system is targeted to the area of the tablet PC. You can use the traditional mouse and keyboard, and probably many people will stay with the old style desktop for various reasons, but it is noteworthy that the touch has been much better thought of this version before. The touch user interface Metro lets you pinch to zoom in and see your Home screen with all your tiles and panels once and navigate to and from the different sections as much as possible, similar to that used in mobile Android. You can manipulate applications Metro, once open, and slide your finger from the left edge, right, top or bottom of the screen in the same way as it does on the QNX operating system BlackBerry playbook. A move from the right, once an application is open Metro, will bring up a panel of options that Microsoft called Charms. These charms are the buttons for searches associated, share, and for other settings of the applications that you might want to activate. Slide from the bottom of the screen brings out the application bar, where you can add and remove content from the application and sliding from the left lets you scroll through all the applications you have opened Metro.

Re: Did anyone downloaded Windows 8 Consumer Preview

Yes you are right this are very good features but I would also like to tell you which features I have liked about the Windows 8. And about the Download I have download it just before 5-6 days.
    Search

The search is a key area and, fortunately, something that has disappeared along with the Start menu. The search is much more integrated into the Windows experience Metro 8 and can be activated from the keyboard by pressing the Home key and start typing what you're looking for. The search results can be applications, files and settings and you can search from within applications, including Internet Explorer start looking with Bing.

    Synchronization

From the first time you run the software, you can choose to pair it with a Windows Live ID and you probably already have one. That account will become your registration at any computer on which you sign with him and automatically synchronize your preferences, including your wallpaper, lock screen options, your passwords, browsing history, IE favorites and what you have in the welcome page. You'll also be able to download any applications you've purchased in the shop window. Probably the most interesting part of the link box in the cloud is Microsoft's SkyDrive. You will be able to access SkyDrive directly from your machine as well as from other computers through the service. Your applications will also be able Metro access SkyDrive data themselves, but will ask for confirmation before doing so in case you prefer not to fill the hard drive of your laptop batteries stored in other data.

    Connectivity

Fully aware of the need for mobile computing, Windows 8 comes packaged with a set of drivers for mobile broadband devices. With these, the machine will be able to track how much traffic you have used, while in line and moving. Moreover, the system will recognize that you are not a fixed line connection and therefore will not attempt to download any Windows update.

    Multiscreen

Multi-users should be happy with the improvements included in Windows 8. From now on will have a copy of the taskbar on both screens instead of having to run all the way back to the lower left corner to get what you want. Better yet, will have the home screen in one of their screens, interface with Metro, while having a normal desktop view in the other. And in the most basic level, may also have two separate funds for the screens instead of having it repeated.

    Internet Explorer 10

Internet Explorer 10 comes as an application style of Metro, and a standard desktop version. Besides the quick and the interest of Bing search, which gives your view a fresher look, with a much more suitable to software design Metro. The idea is to make it faster and more immersive.

    Superfast boot

There has been some noise about how fast you can boot Microsoft Windows 8 even without a SSD, but once we test the final version has come to our machines. However, the technology behind the improvement is due to some code in the system memory for storing operating system kernel on the disc during closing (off), so you can refresh much faster from the same place during power up. Basically this is a similar manner to that used hibernation system. We can only hope that works more reliably once the team starts to get old.
