Apps installed on Windows 8 Consumer Preview not using Proxy

I was able to get online from my home network when I had configured Proxy Server for Internet explorer. However rest of all the apps were not able to get online. Do you aware of any setting which will allow us to get the internet access? Let me know if you are having any useful information resolve the matter.

Well I had the same issue which you have mentioned over here. I also noticed that network connectivity icon was showing exclamation mark and there was prompt that ‘No Internet Access’ or ‘Limited’ . same as you IE was working fine with proxy settings.

To resolve the issue I selected Troubleshoot Network Issues and I noticed that network connectivity icon became normal. After that metro apps started to access the internet.

I know above mentioned thing is not the exact solution but you can try to resolve the same and let me know about the result.

After going through the problem there should be proxy configuration which has been set on Internet Options. Click on Connections and go for LAN Settings. Even you can access the same from Internet Options on the Control Panel. You can apply above mentioned things with the app which you are running on your system.

You can try below mentioned to steps fix the matter of yours.
    1. You should launch Local Group Policy Editor.
    2. Now go for Computer Configuration and click on Administrative Templates and go for Network Isolation.
    3. Now you should enable Proxy Definitions Are Authorative as well as Subnet definitions are authorative.

In this particular situation you should run below mentioned command on command prompt
    Code:
    netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie
after that you have to reboot your computer.
once you have done Metro app would begin to make use of Proxy as expected.
