How to edit Linux Mint 12 Menu

I have seen a thread here discussing about editing the grub menu on Linux Min 12. However I have recently moved from the Mint 10 to 12. I started to learn more and more things in it. Now I am thinking editing the menu and make it as one which I had before. But the problem is in this new version I couldn’t find way to do this. The Gnome looks very different here. Some things are really hard to find.

In the previous version it was possible to edit the menu by the use of the Gnome menu editor "alacarte”. Now in this new version, it doesn’t seems to be installed by default .So for that first you need to find the package and install it from the package manager or from the command line using following command:

Yes, by default the menu editor is not installed in Linux Mint 12. You have to install it from Software Manager. The name of the editor is "alacarte". When you installed, you can see it on "Other" as "Main Menu".
