The Ancillary Function Driver it is fraction of Winsock. It makes available to have right of entry to the rest of the network stack for apps and numerous components of the OS. Without it, browsers and mail clients might not work, just presently as an example. Does the PC boot exclusive of errors into safe mode. Does it boot into "safe mode + net". Do you have encompassed a Vista DVD or is this an OEM preinstall.

How to execute a clean boot procedure to determine whether background programs are interfering by means of a game or a program that to facilitate you currently utilize and run system in normal mode.

Be able to you position your more information of that boot log here. I am not completely sure that to facilitate failure to initialize afd.sys is by itself causing your not be able to boot commencing from cold symptom. That might be additional of a side effect. In addition, are there several warnings or errors in the system event log throughout one of these predicament boots.

The 6D9 data in the Winlogon event is approximately definitely a Win32 status code. 6D9 hex is 1753 decimal, and consequently: V:\>net helpmsg 1753. There are no additional endpoints obtainable commencing from the endpoint mapper. The endpoint mapper failure might be a side-effect of additional substance on your apparatus not working by with the intention of position, so I imagine you be supposed to ignore the Winlogon event for at present on the basis with the intention of it's expected given half the OS has failed to initialize.

Re: Driver AFD.SYS in not loading properly and getting booting error

In view of the fact that the problem merely occurs throughout a cold boot, I would suggest you first flash your BIOS to the most recent version or description. If that tranquil does nothing for you, endeavor pulling out the NIC temporarily and testing cold boot into normal mode exclusive of it. If the NIC is embedded, endeavor disabling it totally in the BIOS the majority BIOSes present that functionality. My gut feeling is that to facilitate your issue is additional BIOS/hardware than software. I might be easily be wrong though.
