    Look like a resource conflict. i think it is connection on the modem on ttyACM0, ttyACM1 & ttyACM1A.that is the serial device, you will need it once . Take a bit of the entry on the wvdial config.

    The problem is that s what in /dev. if it’s something similar to a windows BIOS. I don’t want to start messing in that. And what do i leave? ttyACM0 perhaps? i'm too fresh at this to have much of an idea if I’m honest

    well i opened wvdial.conf and get

    Code:
    [Dialer Defaults]
    Modem = /dev/ttyACM0
    Init1 = ATZ
    Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
    Stupid Mode = 1
    Modem Type = USB Modem
    Phone = *99#
    New PPPD = yes
    ISDN = 0
    Username = user
    Password = user
    Baud = 460800

    [Dialer TMobile]
    Init2 = ATZ
    Init3 = ATQ0 V1 &D2 &C1 S0=0 +IFC=2,2
    Init5 = AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”general.t-mobile.uk”
    ISDN = 0
    Modem = /dev/ttyATC1
    Modem Type = Analog Modem
    Baud = 460800
    The latter look as if it is correct but the above us the default setting

    I am connected to the gnone-ppp. And I already did that the small icon in the taskbar . great option to solve the conflict issue although I am not that sure how to sort that out . the command line throws up that strange error message I posted

    through ppp? by way of your dongle plugged in, and when you right click that applet in case it be the in linux mint, then left click , choose edit connections and in the window that appear. You will see there will be a mobilebroadband tab, choose it and then press the put in connection button plus follow the steps.

    Seems just fine to me. Replace the wvdial.conf to /dev/ttyATC0. And on the udev just leave ttyATC0. Save the rule if you need them . I as well like the 'new pppd' line, for the reason that that is most likely telling it to start a fresh instance anyway, which you just require if you have a few modems.
