Firefox running slow in Ubuntu 10.10

My Firefox version 8 is really running very slow in this ubuntu and I need a fix for this problem, many of the sites are not opening at all and hence its giving me a lot of problem. The same is the case with the google chrome when I am trying to play the flash videos. Rest it works fine, so what do you all think what can be the problem over here can you all please tell me something about it. I need a fox for this as soon as possible. Please help.

Hi I have got a fix for you make sure you follow the steps that I am giving you down here and it will definitely fix the slow browser problem completely.

- First of all open up th e browser and then type about:config in the address bar press enter.

- Now make the necessary changes in the following settings.

a) In the network.dns.disableIPv6 change the value to true.
b) For network.http.pipelining change the value to true.
c) For network.http.pipelining.maxrequests set the vales as 8 0r 10.
d) In network.http.proxy.pipelining change the value to true.

So this is how it is done do work on it and let me know if it works or not.

Hi does this solution work for the Ubuntu 10.04 as well, since I am also facing this same issue in my ubuntu and hence I want to know about it, so will you all help me with it. Your suggestions would be appreciated.
