sad Windows XP - Network connection services failed to start...Error 2: File cannot be found

    Hi,

two days ago i experienced a problem....the internet speed was gradually decreasing and finally it stopped. The nex day when i turned on my laptop, i could not find network connection icons in the tray..when i checked the network connections folder, it was empty. I checked the network adapters and the driver files and found them to working fine.Since am not a technical expert, i googled and found some solutions such as re-installing the following dll files in the windows registry by typing the following in cmd prompt:

    regsvr32 netshell.dll
    regsvr32 netman.dll
    regscr32 netcfgx.dll

all the dll files were installed properly..but the problem persists. am clueless on wht could be the problem and how to resolve it...can some body help me on this..

by the way my OS is Windows XP (SP 3)

Are you using the IE7. If yes then you should update that to the newer version and that can solve the problem for you.
