I have one 16 G USB thumbdrive, formate in FAT32
my laptop PC has one C drive, NTFS, 70G
my objective is open files in original C drive in case I forget XP user name/password, my objective is not installing XP from thumbdrive
I formate thumbdrive using HP formate tools and a DOS bootable thumbedrive is created, when I bootable, it is A drive, I further using dir command to display C drive, to my surprise, only IO.sys and "temp" folder. my objective is not met
I then follow one article/tutorial in the forum and further copy C:\ntldr, ntdetect, boot.ini to my thumbdrive, then using PEBuilder 3.10 to create the BartPE, then using PEInst to copy PE to thumbdrive, but this thumbdrive is not bootable
Any one has done the experiment and made large thumbdrive to be XP bootable?
