WebOS goes Open Source!

Hey, I heard the news, HP declared the webOS as Open Source! Was it a good decision to make?

Of course, it was good decision to make as all the hardware will be using the free os now. HP never got right attention needed. Most amazing thing is that HP is deciding to make new hardware that will have these webOS including the tablets!

HP spent lot more on the webOS and thought they would never get the right amount. So they decided to go open source with the chances of getting more investors now.

I think the idea behind making the webOS as open source is surely that HP don’t want to put huge amount of money into webOS as they want people to make changes into it to become more better and competitive .

As webOS going open source will definitely challenge the existing of android and iOS. Being a open-source, all the code will be available to the people and they can manipulate as per the requirements.

There must be some hardware companies with the devices like palmtops that will use this webOS. Any company that is going to use it would need to make a agreement with HP. They will also need to share their resources with each other.
