Windows Vista HP Laptop, asks for password when turned on

    Hey everyone,
I have an HP Laptop which I was letting a friend use. Then when I got it back, he told me someone borrowed it from him and now it asks for a password as soon as I turn it on.
I had a password set to log into the computer but never saw this screen before and not sure what to do.
I attached a couple of pictures. One the regular start up screen and then the password screen.
I have tried pressing all the F keys and esc and del just to see but it doesn't do anything but go straight to the password screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are almost all BIOS password protections have a "Backdoor" or a universal unlock password. Some are listed on web sites but I'd guess you'll have to contact HP and likely end up paying to have the BIOS password removed. You should first try to call HP for assistance; not all laptops have to be returned to the factory to have their BIOS passwords reset.

Well I did a bit more digging and found the cmos battery and disconnected it.
It did the trick. Did a system restore and now it's back like new.
    Thanks again
