Right now I'm not sure if I have my problem under control. Just this morning it worked once again. But then once I started Gladish, a program whose function was previously completely unknown to me. After I had set it in the settings my sound card stop functioning again. Seems to be a very handy thing to have this Gladish.
Some time ago I do run my M-AUDIO 2496 on a computer with Ubuntu 10.04 and I can not able to do that, I take the plate and there is no way that can make working demo. Sound comes from the on board but not by the m-audio. if anyone knows and not too much trouble, I would like it.
The problem basically is that pavucontrol (sound properties with default ubuntu pulseaudio), does not show the option of using the analog output. Edit / usr/share/alsa/cards/ICE1712.conf:
And add two lines after "card $ CARD}":Code:$ sudo vi /usr/share/alsa/cards/ICE1712.conf
Code:slave.format S32_LE slave.channels 10
To check the volume analog of the card (it is possible that it is a 0), we do with the volume control Envy24 we find in Aplications> Sound and Video after installing alsa-tools-gui:
The analog volume should be in all cases to 127.Code:$ sudo aptitude install alsa-tools-gui
