The Samsung NC20 is now not entirely new. Several bloggers and journalists have devoted themselves to the first vias nano equipped. Now, the colleagues of the Linux community have a copy of the 12-inch model made and tested the NC20 to operate on Linux. The testers had from the beginning not an easy game. As a first step, they wanted to buy the NC20 a new mass storage, no greater, but a more robust.

The BIOS does not recognize the flash-based storage. The solution to this problem was find the hidden features of the netbook. This switched the keyboard shortcut [Fn] + [11] and [Fn] + [F12]. A few settings later had operated the SSD. the tester came forward to the next. Under Ubuntu, and various derivatives started showing the login screen only a flickering image.

i really like the linux os in the Samsung NC20 netbook and spwcially after realeasing the new kernel, which is fully supported for the netpad hardware. after this i dont think so we need anything else like any other patches or something else. i notice onegreat change which introduced in Linux-2.6.31 include the vanishing of the e_powersaver module, which detecting the correct frequencies of the Nano U2250, 800-1600Mhz.

here what i experience after using this. no problem with resolution in openchrome, but this is works really slow. i just get 90 fps with glxgears after activated direct redering. Now I am going to try this through the driver. ram works perfectly. I activated it via menu, and now everything works perfectly like the screen shuts down, the power led blinks, and so on.
