No sound with Windows 8

I am having the HP laptop and I have installed the Windows 8 on my computer. All the other things are running without any problem but there is only one problem and that is with the sound. I am not able to get sound from that. Can somebody tell me that what is the problem with this and how can I get this problem resolved. I have tried with many of the things to get sound but failed to resolved this. So I am posting this over here so that I can get idea from you people. Thank you so much in advance for replying.

First you should check that if you are getting sound from the headphone or not. If there is no problem with the headphone then this is not the problem with the Windows 8 installation. There is something wrong with the system hardware and you must report this to HP. If this is same problem with the headphone as well then the reinstallation of windows 8 might help you.

This could be because of the faulty or corrupted driver. So updating or reinstalling the audio driver might help you in this case.

One of my friends is also having the same problem and he asked me about the same. The sound on her laptop was missing with Windows 8. A diagnostic test and learned that it had nothing to do with the drivers of the soundcard. Indeed, new drivers have the same problem and so I think that updating the drivers will also not help you.

There might be something wrong with the sound settings. Have you seen that the sound settings are okay? Otherwise there must be something wrong with the speaker itself. If you really can not solve this problem then my suggestion to you is to go to some computer specialist and ask for help. Hopefully you can do something with yourself but I would have not tried to do something with the laptop for which I have less knowledge. This is just a guess that comes into my mind when I read your post. See if resetting the sound settings helps you. Good Luck!!!

There is no sound from the headphone as well. There is something wrong with the operating system itself.

Make sure that all the audio drivers are installed in your PC and they are updated. If not then update them and see if that works for you.
