Installation time for Windows 8

I am thinking to install the Windows 8 on my computer as this is available but before installing that, I wish to know that how much time it will take to install the Windows 8 to the system. What will happen if the power off at the time of installation of the Windows 8. Please reply if you have experience of installing Windows 8.

Re: Installation time for Windows 8

I have installed the windows 8 to my computer and this take around 15 to 20 mins max if your system is fulfilling the minimum system requirements for the Windows 7. You can take a look at this to see the minimum system requirement.

Re: Installation time for Windows 8

Microsoft wants to improve the installation of Windows with the Windows 8. Windows 8 will run on any PC running Windows 7 runs today. And many PCs that run Windows Vista and Windows XP today, should be suitable for Windows 8 as explained by the Microsoft. Microsoft wants to change with Windows 8 and promises a much simplified installation or upgrade process.

Re: Installation time for Windows 8

Microsoft offers Windows 8 with two installation options for two very different user groups. There is a "Streamlined setup" for users who are moving with as little effort on Windows 8 and the "Advanced Setup" for users who set up a new system. The Streamlined setup as an executable file (. Exe) is started directly from Windows. The Advanced Setup is used but only if the installation is booted from a DVD or a USB stick.

Re: Installation time for Windows 8

A recommended for many installations of Windows 7 is Microsoft says three different applications and web applications, including Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and Windows Easy Transfer Windows 7 setup. With Windows 8 all these parts have been combined so that the installation seems like a uniform, such as Microsoft says. Even before the purchase can be examined whether Windows 8 works on a PC that connected devices on Windows 8 can no longer be used and what applications need to be reinstalled. Only after this examination, which is completed with a compatibility report, the download of Windows 8, which can be interrupted and resumed later. After the download completes, the installation can continue directly or initially created an installation medium. This requires either an ISO image or a bootable USB flash drive. Then the user can select which data should be taken when installing: not only personal files, or in addition, the Windows settings and apps.

There is also a web based installation. While Microsoft wants Windows 8 will continue to sell DVDs in boxes in the store, the parallel installation of Windows 8 should but can be started directly from the Web. The installation media have also been optimized for download and it removes redundant files and uses a special compression. By this means an ISO image for Windows 7 would shrink from 2.32 to 1.51 GB.

Windows 8 will be installed with eleven clicks, depending on the situation, it can also be a few more. Upgrades will also run faster: With Windows 7 upgrade took more time, the more files existed on the system, regardless of size. Windows 8 will proceed here smarter, to increase the speed of installation.

Re: Installation time for Windows 8

Microsoft is not just a snappy installation of Windows 8, the facility will also process more comfortable in themselves. When you upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 8 should be at least the personal files are transferred, this was even before reinstalling Windows Easy Transfer tool. Windows 8 binds the personal files directly into the installation routine.
