    Server Virtualization with Windows 8

I found that the VMWare does not have the ACPI 2.0, that Windows 8 needed. It also need hardware virtualization along with some architecture either x86 otherwise x64. You can make use of the VirtualBox. If you are still making use of the VMWare then you might get the BSOD.

Re: Server Virtualization with Windows 8

Microsoft plans to introduce in certain versions of Windows 8, Hyper-V 3.0 as client virtualization. In the meantime, some information has become known. But we dealt with the topic of virtualization. Currently it is unclear what Windows 8 client with Hyper-V 3.0 will be provided. We must assume that these are just the clients for the business sector. The home user will get nothing. That would be no problem, you can use on these clients but alternative virtualization solutions a VirtualBox or VMware Player. But you could already ask the question, what strategy can be seen from Microsoft in terms of virtualization for business customers.

Re: Server Virtualization with Windows 8

Microsoft has confirmed during the presentation of the first details about Windows 8 that Hyper-V is to be a part of the operating system. After the release of the developer preview now more details to come to light, which can afford the new function: Hyper-V can replace VirtualBox. The virtualization haunts for about a decade in the IT industry. First, it was used in data centers to multiple instances of an operating system to run simultaneously on the server and thus better utilize the hardware with the latest Oracle VirtualBox, Parallels and other virtualization applications arrived on the desktop PC.

The in-house program installed Hyper-V which was previously available only for the server versions of the operating system Hyper-V in Windows Server 2008 as a so-called role included similar to the Web or e-mail server which can be recorded on the computer maintenance and computer for the tasks running quickly. Who did not want to spend money for the same Windows server could download Hyper-V installed as a standalone product, and there will ne at no charge.

The new version of Microsoft's Hyper-V virtualization technology VMware is to teach the meaning of fear. It supports live migration of entire virtual machines or parts of VMs across data centers through because the network is also virtualized. Windows Server 8 has it also comes with an expandable switch that has been built into Hyper-V. The network is not only virtual, but also more powerful, because of Windows Server 8. Windows Server 8 has donated a built-in data de-duplication, block-oriented working. The technology is also used in the branch cache. In the management of access rights administrators must fully adjust to something new. When it comes to Microsoft, have Access Control Lists (ACLs) had its day and the future belongs.

Who wants to virtualize Windows on the server, is delivered with Windows Server 8 is equal to one increasingly powerful virtualization solution. while you have Windows 2008 Server R2 can easily drive Hyper-V on CPUs that support virtualization which draws in Microsoft Windows 8 Client an additional hurdle because of SLAT is a must.

Hyper-V also accept direct mounting in a virtual machine from a VHD disk image or hard drives and IDE or SCSI. The storage space allocated to a machine can also be moved on the fly, without interrupting the operation, via a feature called Live Storage Move. There are also automatic backup of the state of a virtual machine at any given time. Maintenance should in turn be easy because Hyper-V will be updated as necessary through Windows Update. Finally, note that the management of the network within Hyper-V will open the wireless links (WiFi). Microsoft did not specify which edition of Windows 8 would be equipped with virtualization, for the simple reason that segmentation has not yet been revealed.
