Need help with changing default shutdown dialogue box in Mac OS X Lion

As populace are discover, you cannot "entirely disable unchecking Resume Pref> General> Reset the windows when leaving the application.

Although this curriculum vita is not controlled, they still will not open any application manually before closing out. In order to stop the reopening of all Lion applications operation at closing time, you have to uncheck this box: Are you convinced you wish for shutdown

However, we must remember to do this each time for the reason that the default behavior is for review (even if not controlled at all times past). What I would like to know is how to change the default for this box is checked by default. Most probably there must be something you be capable to do in the terminal to alter this? anybody know?

I'll agree. This has to be an option that can enable or disable permanently. If you won?t to sleep in my system, I will. Normally, restarting the system for some reason, I want to start from scratch. Having this extra step each time you shutdown / restart, the lower is annoying.

I totally have the same opinion. For the reason that I was looking at Google's way of making the box is checked by default. Unchecking the preference system configuration "Restore the window to exit the application." the box must be checked by default, in my opinion, but whatever, as along as there is a way to alter it I do not mind how. Apple, please give me this option. I know many others who want it that way too.

Many of us in the Appleseed program called for months and were not heard obviously.

I cannot imagine anyone who has a trouble with the resume if, as long as they wanted, it could completely turn off so it does not always have to disable the annoying dialog box each time you reboot or shut down. For laptops, where you may have to shut down during a meeting or at an airport can definitely see the advantage .nevertheless if you're working on a fixed site.

Re: Need help with changing default shutdown dialogue box in Mac OS X Lion

The trouble I'm having with the car resume is that my iTunes library is on a NAS server, and each time that Lion is a kernel panic (yes, a couple of times now) and then returns to the mountains NAS take up to a minute to go and time that iTunes has already decided to shift my library on the internal hard drive and I have to physically go rear to the NAS drive.

Extremely annoying considering that I thought "do not recommence applications" would do just that!

Re: Need help with changing default shutdown dialogue box in Mac OS X Lion

I was one of the people in the Apples seed team and refused to alter the appearance of Resume dialog box when a person shuts down or restarts. And constantly verify it is not probable to entirely disable Resume. Do not consider me; just leave a few applications running at shutdown or reboot. will be launched later, even if the preference is not enabled in System Preferences> General> "Restore ."

Email is usually run every time you shut down or restart and if you've hidden or minimized then to restart it "gives me a slap in the face and I have to dismiss. It is not good. Apple knows this better (as with the concealment of the Library) is not easy to use. Apple of love, but sometimes it just will not listen.

Nevertheless do not have to manually reset each time the iTunes library. Just quit iTunes, wait for the NAS is mounted and relaunch iTunes. The location of the library is accurate in the Preferences. Also if you have iTunes set to open on login. SysPrefs open> Users and Groups> Login Items. If you are on this list discontinue you from throw out the login.

One possible reason iTunes should launch a login item. You can check and see if this is happening in the System Preferences My iMac brothers had the same behavior of iTunes and annoyed the hell out of me. Just disable or delete them.

Re: Need help with changing default shutdown dialogue box in Mac OS X Lion

Count me as one of those thoroughly disgusted with the hasty decision of Apple. Shutdown and restart used to be a simple two-step process for me, power button, then "Back" or "R", depending on what I wanted to do. Now "Restore" gets in the way. Frankly, the only reason I have to restart both is that the Lion of other issues-Applications has brought me to quit, do not start, etc. In any case, we need some way to disable this function.
