System restore and Update ERROR CODE 8007051A

I am being haunted by screen freeze/reboot/system restore/ repeat!! Now I am unable to download windows updates and itunes as well. I suspect Kaspersky to be interfering since this started happening after I upgraded to the 2012vs. I am a nube so I will try my best to be articulate as possible. I want to say thanks in advance to anyone that can help me!

    This is my computer:

    Sony Vaio VGN NW150J
    Processor: Intel Core 2Duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz
    RAM: 4.00GB
    System: 64 bit op sys

    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Service Pack 2

ANTI VIRUS: Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 vs 12.0.0.374

Can you try to use the System File Checker tool to fix the corrupted system files and check if you come across the same problem.Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
    2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    3. sfc /scannow

The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

Re: System restore and Update ERROR CODE 8007051A

    Ran system scan (SFC/scannow).

    Got message:

"Resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of
them. Details are included in the CBS.log WINDIR\logs\cbs\cbs.log
For example C:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log" Have no idea the meaning of
this. Tried to view cbs.log but access was denied.... what now?

Try to run SFC.exe tool. It is a System File Checker tool checker tool which identifies the system files which are corrupt and fix them up. You can run the same via cmd. Run cmd in admin account and then type sfc /scannow. If it prompts for windows bootable disc provide the same. The tool scans each system file of Windows and fixes the corrupted or failed files. It is necessary to run the same under admin account so that it can also scan and fix the protected system files. Mostly this tool updates the version of system files.

As you have already ran a sfc scan and it found errors, there is a strong possibility that the corrupt files which it found are not repaired and you may have to repair them manually by running a repair for Windows Vista. Simply put the vista dvd in the dvd drive and then choose repair as an option to sort out this issue.

Thanks for your suggestions. I finally took it to a friend of mine to get it fixed. Running well for now. There were conflicts with Kaspersky and a lot of ??? enigma's. THanks again!
