This might be explained by minimizing Compiz to form 0.8.6. But the setback is that how can I downgrade it to COMPIZ 0.8.6? Please help!

Below are for the classic Ubuntu desktop but it finishes have an association with linuxmint. Moreover, this is exploratory (returning the changes is a bit confounded and would not be able to work precisely as portrayed in this post) so utilize it at your particular risk!
-In the terminal run the following commands to purge Compiz:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get purge compiz compiz-plugins-extra compiz-plugins-main
-Purge the CompizConfig Settings Manager too:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get purge compizconfig-settings-manager
    - Add Giodic's PPA and install Compiz
    Code:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:guido-iodice/compiz-0.8.6-natty
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    sudo apt-get install compiz compiz-core compiz-fusion-plugins-main compiz-f

In the event that you need to return the changes and utilize Compiz 0.9.4 again, run the charges below in a terminal:

    sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
    sudo ppa-purge ppa:guido-iodice/compiz-0.8.6-natty
    sudo apt-get install -f
    sudo apt-get purge compiz-plugins-extra compiz-plugins-main compiz-fusion-

Attempted this Fresh institute upgraded. Downsized fine, but still no fortunes with a block (appeared somehow simpler in Ubuntu circa 10.04). I tried attempted the restoring guidelines to get once more down to stock but didn't work for me either. Yet synaptic would be unable to get the stock compiz back. Fortunately I had a DVD with the Mint 11 iso to fathom that for me.

You in all probably would like to add all or most of these. So replace first reply step #3 with this:
    Code:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:guido-iodice/compiz-0.8.6-natty
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    sudo apt-get install compiz compiz-core compiz-fusion-plugins-main compiz-fusion-plugins-extra compiz-fusion-plugins-unsupported compiz-gnome compiz-plugins compizconfig-backend-gconf compizconfig-settings-manager libdecoration0 python-compizconfig simple-ccsm

I did every last trace of the Steps and it appeared to work fine. However when I run over to open compiz, the first time I did it the symbol wouldn’t head over down to the board so I right clicked it in the menu and there wasn’t the alternative to run the settings so I uninstalled and began over and did every last trace of the Steps a second time, now when I head off to the menu and attempt to identify it isn’t even in the systems record and when I run over to the bundle manager and attempt to reinstall it, it says it installed at present.
