I have Twitter, Dropbox, Read Now, Camouflage, SimpleText and Flow, but they stay in the menu bar available when the rest is hiding and re-appearing after its 'restart'. So it's on the whole the standard apple part of the menu bar that looks buggy.Try fixing that part of code.

DropBox might be the simply obsession you have that belongs in the menu bar. The rest, double check with their developers for compatibility with the operating system you are at present running. If they don't know or haven't tested, inquire them how to totally take away it.

That's a last resort, and it won't resolve most software problems.

Give pleasure to launch the Activity Monitor application. Enter "SystemUIServer" (without the quotes) in the "Filter" box. Select the SystemUIServer process, and then click the "Sample Process" button in the toolbar. When the sample window opens, select "Sample Text" from the "Display" menu in its toolbar. Decide on the inside of the window, copy, and paste into a answer to this communication.

Any non-Apple menu bar software has to be exactly in synchronicity with the version of the operating system installed. Apple has changed the menu bar management quite frequently, and if it isn't just right, you'll always get something that doesn't quite work right.

Remove all non-Apple menu bar made items until you know each one you use is compatible with Lion.

That looks OK. Launch the Console application and look under "System Diagnostic Reports" and "User Diagnostic Reports" for crash logs related to SystemUIServer. If you find any, select the most recent one and post the contents.
