Exclamation vista reboot error message in panther

    Help..
i have read on here abouit a problem i am having trying to re-boot my laptop where i keep getting a message up saying
'windows could not parse or process an unattended file in
    windows\panther\unattend/xml.
the solutions all talk about deleting the offending file so the reboot bypasses this
but i cant get into the system as it won't reboot.
and if i click on the install windows message then it goes back to re boot
I have tried to use a disc of vista business and home premioum edition, but still nothing
i tried to run disc cleanup.
shange the multi boot settings and anthing else an inskilled amateur can think of to try to resurrect my laptop.
    but nothing.
so is it possible to by pass this file or delete it as suggested on other threads while being unable to even get into the computer???
    is there a short cut???
    Help!!!!
SO IF ANYONE CAN PLEASE TELL ME IN 'STEP BY STEP' INSTRUCTIONS WHAT I CAN DO TO GET AROUND THIS CORRUPT FILE AND GET MY LAPTOP WORKING AGAIN??

The Windows core setup is usually automated by an unattend.xml file. This file is divided to some sections and config passes which are needed to boot windows properly. To fix this you can use an tool called Windows System Image Manager (WSIM) from the Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK). Also there is a need of different answer files as per your system architecture. Using the try the below solutions.

    drive:\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml] for pass [oobeSystem]

thank you i am not sure i understand the technical side of it as to what has caused it, but i will follow the link.
is it a download of the toll you mentioned. and if so do i just burn it to a disc and then try to load it?
sorry for my lack of understanding. but thanks again for your link.
    regards.

Even I was also facing similar kind of problem on my Laptop. So what I did was, I just created the following unattend.xml file:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    -<unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"></unattend>

I then booted with UBCD4win (but recovery console may work) and copied this file to 2 locations: C:\windows\panther\ and C:\windows\panther\unattend

After reboot, windows setup continues without error.

thanks, i have tried, relaoding windows vista, but i have business edition and apparently thats the reason for this as the inateended file error relates to media player and its not part of teh business package..
i have tried getting a copy of vista home premium, but still nothing
this is so frustrating, the machine is ready to go but just freezes on the start up before i can access any settings or files.
    thanks anyway
