Mounting ISO and VHD files possible in Windows 8

It is already known that the Windows 8 has several improvements, One of them them is a native support intended for accessing ISO files as well as VHD files within window 8 Explorer.

On one occasion created, these files are able to be share, store just similar to whichever additional file – though, if you would like to access otherwise read the content restricted inside the ISO file, you moreover need to “burn” the ISO file to CD otherwise make use of whichever third party software for direct mounting.

But in Windows 8, you are able to merely access the stuffing of the ISO file devoid of burning to or by the use of any Third party apps. This is same for VHD files.

Once "installed" the ISO, you'll see a new player in the virtual window management unit, with its own letter dedicated, and this indicates that the contents are accessible. Mind you: Windows 8 will read the ISO file, but not create them. For what will even special instruments. Different, albeit slightly, the discussion regarding the VHD (Virtual Hard Disk). This is a format used by virtualization software such as Hyper-V or Virtual PC that allows you to "encapsulate" the hard drive in a single file to allow use by the OS as a virtual disk.

Microsoft looks forward to bring new features to its future native OS, Windows 8. Recently we learned that the file transfer will be enhanced to avoid the use of third-party tools such as Super Copy. Using the new organization tools in Windows Explorer with the Ribbon, Microsoft brings a new interesting feature: the editing.

Access to these files in Windows 8 will be similar to the ISO file, but with one important difference: instead of appearing as removable readers, the VHD will appear as a new hard drive. Windows will provide a letter to the virtual disk those points to the volume inside the VHD file. This way you can work with the virtual hard drive so any other files on your system by changing, adding or removing files. Right-clicking on it and clicking "Eject" (or appropriate button in the interface Ribbon), you can "remove" the volume: the changes made will remain in the files.

Native support for the ISO file and VHD in Windows 8. Microsoft has talked about these two new products, explaining that they were in great demand of users so far forced to use specific applications.

This is a particularly useful feature in that the ISO images are widely used. It is easy to extract them but being able to mount avoids this step may take some time. An ISO file can serve as "reservoir" of installation of backup. Since this is an image, it can then be etched. On the other hand, this will keep in a corner of the external hard drive for files that will be used to reinstall

applications; the performance is so much greater than that of an optical drive.
The VHD format is less known to the general public. It is currently used within homes Hyper-V and Virtual PC and Microsoft also said that next post will focus on virtualization in Windows 8.

Important qualification for the ISO images as VHD: it is possible to read all the files to modify and add new ones, the edition is complete.

I personally do not really see the point in to ISOs and VHD's on a pretty weak platform as a tablet to browse. Not thinking of the limited space. VHD is a 40 GB and soon a 4GB ISO. In Apple, you can already ISOs without third party software to open and edit. The self-supportive DMG Files too. I think it's an improvement but a groundbreaking to speak is very outdated. Perhaps on the VHDs after it ;-)

Another commonality in the use of ISO - and the VHD files is that they can be easily re "eject" on a right-click, as the users also have been used, for example, already with the USB media. With these changes, the Microsoft engineers have some small but meaningful improvements in Windows Explorer have integrated not only facilitate the daily work but also make the installation of special add-on solutions unnecessary.
