Do I need to backup when updating to XP SP3

Do I need to backup when upgrading from XP SP2 to XP SP3?
If i upgrade will I loose anything?

Nope you wont loose anything if you upgrade windows xp service pack 2 to service pack 3 by letting it install automatically via the windows update. But if you plan to use a windows xp service pack 3 disc to totally clean install over the previous then you will need to backup all data's and save it to a local drive or disc.
