How to use Windows 7 Pro key for installing Windows 7 Home

My laptop is already come with Windows 7 Home installed, and the key is integrated. My desktop is running with a complete Windows 7 Pro install (Furthermore I have the disc with key). I have two questions and here they are:
    • I would like to upgrade the laptop by the use of my Desktop’s Pro key - is this achievable?
    • I'd like to provide the Window 7 Home key to another computer. Will it be deactivated/ineffective if I set out this way?

I doubt that you can use the "Pro-Key" for the home version. An upgrade is always such a thing anyway. A reinstallation of Windows 7 would be no way I think the clean solution. If you can make a backup is surely the better option.

Until you've figured out how to upgrade from Windows 7 to Pro (which works with non-safety without further notice) you have installed your new laptop and copied the old data. Microsoft certainly has not provided the various other versions of Windows 7 will be upgraded. So you'd only make you a lot of work and Difficulties. My suggestion: think about whether you once the additional features of Pro ever need and whether they are worth the effort.

It is technically possible to do with an upgrade DVD, a complete installation on a blank system (first install without key and then perform the actual upgrade Windows 7). Although licensing laws is not quite perfect, but I think it is not illegal.

Unless I know it will not do. The keys between 32 and 64 bits each for use on both versions, but make a key from Professional to Home Premium from Professional does not work. So if I understand you correctly, you want to upgrade the home premium version to Professional? It works like this, anyway. All you'd have to have a secular key and you could probably install it on the same disc Prof (the DVDs are no different, only the keys, but it will then install different things, depending on the version). So you need a "real" Win7-Key.

You could install Windows 7 upgrade without a key and then simply select the Home version. Then you start Windows Anytime upgrade, give your Pro Key, and 10 minutes later everything is completely finished. Would actually work.
